Publishers Weekly reviews One Big Happy Family calling it a collection of “plainspoken, cage-rattling essays” and “fresh, diverse views [representing] an authentic, valuable new reality.”
The reviewer called out Jenny Block’s essay about polyamory; Dan Savage and Dawn Friedman’s pieces about open adoption; Antonio Caya essay about choosing to be a donor not a daddy; Z. Z. Packer’s discussion of multi-race kids; and Susan McKinney Ortega essay about her decision to raise her children in Mexico with their Mexican dad.
